  1. Oooh, ooh, Trekkie fingers!

    I had the privilege of making the Vulcan salute (the, er, official name for “Trekkie fingers”) at Leonard Nimoy during one of his last public appearances. He’d come to Boston to perform with the Boston Pops in their rendition of “music inspired by outer space.” He gave the story behind his creation of the Vulcan salute, then asked if we could do it, as salutes went up all over Symphony Hall. It was a great moment.

    • Oh, and the thumb is OUT for the Vulcan salute, not held against the forefinger. Just in case you have occasion to draw it again someday — which I hope you will! 🙂
